Thanks for making the arrangements for my Emirates flight to Newcastle via Dubai - fantastic service - through passports and baggage within 10 minutes in Newcastle.
As you know I had to get a re-entry stamp in my passport, and was told that this service is offered at Suvanabhumi, but that you need two passport photos and photocopies of your travel documents. I was also told that you need your boarding pass.Only the last info was correct!
My flight was early morning but I arrived early in case of problems - there were - no one knew where the re entry visa booth was - I had the idea it was like the old airport tax booth on the concourse. There are no signs to my knowledge as I did look for them.
However, eventually I found it. Having checked in and with the boarding pass I went to Departure Gate Number 2 which is directly off the main concourse where you check in for your flight. You say to the staff at the gate " re - entry visa", and they direct you to the stand which is to the left of and inside the gate entrance. There were two helpful English speaking ladies there. No paperwork was needed - the boarding pass is to get entry through the departure gate - they take your photo and produce the computer generated form. It was quiet when I was there, but the photo and paperwork took a few minutes - I waited maybe ten for their checking , and then was ushered to a passport control booth with no queue. No problem
Single and multiple re -entry visas are issued - I needed a single which cost ( I think - I lost the receipt) 1,200 baht.
The desk is open from 06:00 until 24:00.
Price at the airport seems to be 1,200 baht instead of 1,000 baht.
